With a view to assist foreigners in reporting crimes, the Foreign Affairs Department and the Police Department of the central city of Da Nang have jointly provided them with a list of hotlines for use in emergencies.

The list includes the phone numbers of several officials from the two departments and other useful numbers.

The numbers are 0905.113.038 for Le Thi Thu Hanh, deputy director of Department of Foreign Affairs, and 01669.597.120 for Nguyen Thi Phuong Nga, deputy head of the department’s Division of Consular and Overseas Vietnamese Affairs.

The list also includes 0905.475.762 and 05113.743.791 to reach Dang Trung Thinh, and 0905.010.586 and 05113.743.791 for Ho Thi Thanh Ha – both of whom work at the Police Department’s Immigration Service.

In addition to these numbers, foreigners can call two other hotlines, 0511.889965 to contact the city’s Foreign Affairs Department or 0511.322253 to reach the department’s Division of Consular and Overseas Vietnamese Affairs.

In addition, the city has also launched another Vietnamese-language hotline at 05113.888.888, to receive information about crimes.

The hotline holders are able to deal with callers in both English and Vietnamese, the two departments said.

Foreigners can also come personally to the Da Nang Immigration Office at 78 Le Loi Street in Hai Chau District or dial 05113.860.247 to report crimes or other complaints.

Along with the increasing number of foreigners visiting Vietnam, including Da Nang, cases of thefts, robberies or swindles involving them have also risen, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Consular Department.

The launch of the hotlines will facilitate foreigners in contacting competent agencies for help whenever they suffer from any criminal problems, the department said.
